The perfect house shoes have to check off a few boxes: They need to be cozy and comfortable, they need to feature some sort of a hard sole for when you step out to grab the mail or food delivery, and ideally they’d also be cute or stylish. These aren’t the fuzzy socks you sleep in when it’s a cold night. These are more of a slipper-shoe hybrid that provides the support you need and the cuteness you want. Because slippers don’t have to be boring. They can still be sleek and chic enough for a work-from-home day and soft enough for rotting on the couch. Basically, the perfect pair does it all. Below are some of our favorites.
1. Crocs Unisex Adult Classic Lined Clog
Crocs are arguably the best house shoes because the durable sole makes them excellent for doing chores safely. (No running down the stairs in just socks!) They generally lack the coziness of slippers — but not these. These have faux-fur lining, making them the height of comfort.
2. Ugg Coquette Slipper
Almost all Ugg shoes and boots are basically slippers that are appropriate to wear outside. Our favorite mostly indoor ones feature soft sheepskin and a lightweight sole.
3. Auden Mia Faux Shearling Clog Slippers
These affordable faux-shearling clog slippers have a cushioned insole, an indoor/outdoor outsole, and a seriously cute vibe.
4. Bombas Saturday Slipper
Bombas makes some of the best socks around, but don’t skip over the brand’s dinner party-friendly slippers. They have a memory foam footbed to sink into and a rubber outsole to help with traction. Plus, the all-over sherpa style is fashion-forward.
5. HUMIWA Faux Fur Slippers
If you prefer your slippers open-toed, this faux-fur style is comfortable while letting your feet feel free. They come in seven colors and prints and are affordable enough that you can grab more than one to have an emergency backup.
